Biodiversiteti I pyllit tropikal qe eshte ekosistemi ne vazhdimesi me I lashti ne bote dhe Great Barrier Reef (Shkembi Koralor)) qe konsiderohet “organizmi” I gjalle me I madh I planetit jane burime frymezimi te pafund per kedo.

‘Terra Australis’ is a body of works (all oil on canvass) based on personal impressions of a particular environment where the intensity of natural light and the diversity in colour becomes a reason for me to go back at the ‘Colour’ theme.

This environment is Australia, especially Australian Eastern Cost and Tropical Australia.

Under the tropical sun with the reflection of the ocean, Light filters everything differently and colours have such intensity. Endless spaces of unique ecosystems where the Beauty and the Danger coexist naturally make Australia very specific in my eyes. It is like that beautiful flower behind which hides a deadly spider. This is the place where the ocean and the desert are nearby to each other. Biodiversity of the tropical forest which is the oldest continually surviving rainforest on earth and the Great Barrier Reef which is considered the largest living organism on the planet are endless source of inspiration for everyone, and for me is a true discovery, I’d like to think I felt like the early explorers, hence the title.

How could be “translated” visually such experience without ending up into descriptive situations. There is subjectivity in these works, product of an instinctive personal approach, but at the same time the colour seem to be subject of precise rationalization.

These works takes one to the old (and utopic) debate of artists about Colour , whether the colour can be independent from form. In this case the form is possibly the most minimalistic one, in the way of which colours are displayed. These colours are applied horizontally in several rectangular vertically shaped canvasses, which seems to be appropriate considering the way in which human eye is build. These works are not based in some concrete image but somehow just products of memory from that particular experience.
